Animal Rescue Game

Category :

I had plans to play this game on my animal loving 5 year olds “Rainforest” and “Safari” Birthday party. But that didn’t happen. So, decided to play it with them last weekend.

The goal of the game was for the kids to carry one animal at a time to safety through an obstacle course, all while wearing their backpacks (which had their pretend survival kit).

Setup was pretty easy – I had 2 large bins of soft toy animals on one end from which they would each pick one each time.

We did a coin toss to see who would start first.

After they picked an animal, they had to crawl through a tunnel.

Once out of the tunnel they had to walk through some taped steps. They could only place one foot inside each box.

Next was a blue mat which depicted a lake, they had to watch out the cayman and the hippo in the water. There were also several other wild animals kept all along the course that they had to look out for.

After crossing the water, they had to climb up a little hill (a large pillow). The other side of the hill was safely – on the trampoline. They had to jump up on the trampoline, leave their animal there and head back to rescue another animal.

(I apologize for the quality of the pics.. we were having too much fun!)

They loved it, and acted their role well, talking through the whole time. They also got tired after rescuing several animals – a good exercise.
