Cheddar Cheese Sauce Pasta With Veggies

This is a real easy kid friendly pasta. A wonderful alternative to the store bought Mac & Cheese boxes.

What you’ll need:

  • Cheddar Cheese (Shredded or Cubed Finely) – 1 cup packed
  • Milk (I used non-fat, you can use whatever you prefer) – 2 cups
  • Whole Wheat Flour – 4 tbsp
  • Butter – 1 to 2 tbsp
  • Salt – 1 to 2 tsp or to taste
  • Chili Powder or Pepper to taste
  • Cooked Pasta – 1 packet
  • Veggies of your choice steamed (I used Broccoli florets, Carrots and Peas)

Method:

1. Cook the pasta as per directions on box and steam the veggies. Keep aside.

2. In the meanwhile, whip together, Milk, Whole Wheat Flour and Salt. Pour into a pan, add Butter and bring to a boil on medium low heat, stirring frequently. Switch off heat when it comes to a boil.

3. Add the Cheese and mix. Add pepper or chili powder. Sauce is ready.

4. Add the pasta and veggies and mix everything together.

I sprinkle extra chili powder on top for us as the kids like the pasta mild.
