Colorful and Shapely Breakfast French Toast

To add some fun into breakfast, I cut up the bread into different shapes – using cookie cutters for some of the shapes.

I also added food color to the french toast custard mixture – orange here as requested by my son, but you can use any bright color.

In winter, when berries are not in season, an alternative to fresh berries is organic frozen berries. This berry compote goes well with the french toast.
