Kids Shopping Game

To introduce the concept of money to my 4 year olds, we played the shopping game.
It was a fun game to teach the value of money, choices, counting, social behavior, etc.
We picked a few items around the house and wrote price tags on them. The shop was setup on the table. I gave the boys a certain number of pennies and basket and told them to go shopping!
At the checkout, they were asked to pay as per the price tag. They counted their coins.
They found that they had to return an item or two since they didn’t have sufficient amount to pay.
And one of them even did an exchange – the potato for graham crackers 🙂
