Patterns with Pumpkin Seeds

As I was thinking of a creative and fun activity for my 4 year olds to learn and play with patterns, thought of using the colored pumpkin seeds we had made!
I set them up with the colored pumpkin seeds and some glass stones and cutting boards covered with foil to work on.
I then showed them a simple pattern.
They got to work right away!
And came up with their own – including a roaring Lion!
I usually sit with the kids when we do the activities, and while they were making their patterns, I made the pattern on the left. One of my little one tried to recreate it (on the right). He said he was too tired to complete the border.
