Mint Chutney

My 6 year old and I made this chutney for making cucumber sandwiches. It can also be used as a side item with food, or as a sauce with appetizers. Very easy and very tasty.

I used fresh, fragrant mint leaves from the farmers market, fresh lemon from the neighbor’s yard and green chilies from my yard. My son helped me in gathering all the ingredients and also running the bullet grinder later.

What you’ll need:

  • Mint Leaves – a small bunch (as shown)
  • Zest of 1 Lemon
  • Juice of 1/2 Lemon (medium size)
  • Green Chilies – 2
  • Ginger – 1 inch piece
  • Cumin Powder – 1 to 2 tsp
  • Salt to taste

Method:

1. All ingredients as shown. Since I was going to grind them all, I just peeled the lemon zest instead of shredding.

2. Blend everything into a paste with very little to no water. Enjoy the mint chutney!
