Mint Tomato Pulao
Happiness is making a meal using what you’ve grown in your garden 🙂
Tomatoes, Mint, Green Chilies, Cucumber are all doing awesome!! So for a quick dinner, made this Mint Tomato Pulao with Cucumber on the side!
The aroma of the mint and the other spices were just awesome and the flavors were bursting in the mouth!! I think overate!
What you’ll need:
- Large Tomatoes – 4
- Mint – 1 cup
- Green Chilies – 5 to 6
- Onion – 1/2
- Garlic Cloves – 4 to 5
- Salt to taste
- Cinnamon Powder – 1 tsp
- Nutmeg Powder – 1/2 tsp
- Cloves – 10
- Badi (Big) Elaichi – 1
- Olive Oil – 2 to 3 tbsp
- Basmati Rice – 3 cups
Method:
1. Grind the Mint, Chilies, Onion, Garlic, Salt, Cinnamon, Nutmeg, Cloves and Cardamom into a fine paste, adding a small amount of water if needed. I use my bullet to grind.
2. In a large pot, add Olive Oil and add the Masala Paste and the washed Rice.
3. Add sufficient water (I add 2 cups for every cup of rice). Cover the pot and bring to a boil.
4. Once it starts to boil, reduce heat to lowest and cook for 30 mins. Enjoy!!
We had home grown cucumber on the side.
